WINX CLUB is teeming with witches, warriors, and magical mysteries, but it's also bogged down by some content that's not so great for its very impressionable target audience. Start with mystical fairy powers, add the ability to fly, flashy clothes, and the constant slumber-party atmosphere of a fairy boarding school, and you have any tween girl's recipe for fun.
Seriously now!! See the good things, not the bad! Why can't some people realise that? I don't know, some people are just incredibly stupid. However, when Common Sense was reviewing Winx Club, they mainly focused on the negative aspects on the show. I saw some of the other shows that this Common Sense reviewer reviewed, and those reviews mainly stated the good things about those shows. In fact, my daughter is watching it right now!! (I'm watching it as I type.) My favorite fairy is probably Stella or Bloom, while my daughter's favorite fairy is Flora (and it's not hard to see why.) All of the girls are strong and fight against a trio of sisters called "the Trix." So far, Winx Club has taught my daughter that you don't need to always be saved by a man, unlike the really old Disney princess movies, where the female is being saved by the male, however in Winx Club, the fairies are the main characters, and they don't need to be saved by the boys (or in this case, the "Specialists".) Unlike what the Common Sense review stated, the Winx don't really kiss their boyfriends that often. Me and my daughter love the show!! We are currently on season 2 episode 15, almost at 16. Yes, I know it seems a little too late to be writing a review on a cartoon that came out in 2004, but yesterday I just found out about Common Sense Media, so yesterday I created my account, and today I left a review.
